There are many life-enriching concepts presented in this book. The chapter “No is an Equalizer” challenged me personally and I loved the self-reflecting questions at the end of each chapter. Can’t wait for the workshop.

If you are anything like me and are often identified as a high-capacity person that somehow finds a way to “get it done” by any means necessary, this is the book for you!...

As a wife, a mom of toddlers, an empathetic friend, and a passionate elementary school teacher my hands are always full. If you think you're too busy to read this book, trust me, you're too busy not to! In Support of Myself reminded me that the building and participation in an authentic community is both imperative and reciprocal through every season of life. You will be reminded of the rhythm of grace and of how to restore it when you "thought" you could do it all! Even as I recognized, sometimes embarrassing, aspects of myself in the stories Cheryl shares about other women I was comforted to be reminded that I am not alone. You may discover some areas of your life that deserve your immediate attention, don't worry, the carefully curated reflection questions at the end of each chapter will be your practical tools to guide you with the work you need to do. In Support of Myself is a must-read for all women in all seasons of life.

Cheryl has opened my mind to see that everyone has their own journey. To acknowledge that it is ok to be different. I am not one who has routinely considered others' needs over mine. Still, after reading this memoir, I can not only accept others' challenges but embrace my own. This is a book of history, hope, self-awareness, and ultimately self-love.

Cheryl Gray's ”In Support of my Self: A Woman's Guide to Asking and Accepting Help from Others" is one of the finest, most refreshing, renewing, reviving, restorative, reinvigorating books to guide women through the ups and downs of life with a resource of Deliverance and Healing. Not only does this book bring relief and release to a woman's holistic being, but it also embraces the core and fiber of a woman's heart, soul, mind, and spirit. It lets her know there is Hope for her sanity and mental health. You will never be the same after reading this book. It is a “must-read,” and ends with a powerful call to action that grows and develops the reader.
